Angel Was Here is a project rooted in personal narrative, an experimental documentary photo series that tells a story about myself, a symphony of grief and memory dedicated to something that meant so much to me: an item that brought me solace for seven years.
I have never had a place I truly called home. I spent my life moving from country to country- eventually finding myself in Fairfax, Virginia, where I stayed for seven years, only to leave my nest again. The light paintings embedded within the photographs add a dynamic touch and a metaphorical approach to leaving a temporary mark, just like fading graffiti or a written quote on the wall that has endured through the ages: "someone was here". The riddle-like poems lead the viewer through the space, connecting each word back to the front page and the title,
Angel Was Here.
